I am a lover of Christmas, always have been, I go all out. However, this year I thought I would actually try with Halloween. I found a bag of our old Halloween decor and dived right in. I thought I would share my simple Halloween room decor.

Adding a Halloween saying to my board was a must, adding some horns gave an extra something!
Obviously, pumpkin candles have to happen,  I have been itching to light these so I am sooo excited I have them out, they are of course Pumpkin pumpkin pumpkin all pumpkin...
I also found these little pumpkin and ghost pots which a find adorable and some rubber eyeballs, which btw glow in the dark.
Then I added some spider rings (yes they are from the Greggs cupcakes) to my plants, to make them feel more festive.

I added more Halloween candles to my new shelf, my pumpkin wreath (Homesense) and more pumpkin scented candles. I also have Bath and Body Works hand gel, which I picked this summer. It just fits in perfectly with my room right now!
The witch decoration has been used in my living room for years, so I swiped it to add to the spooky decor.

Last but not least my fairy lights, these will be up far later than Halloween and will be perfect for Christmas. They are the prettiest thing that I have bought from Primark and sit nicely on my wall.

I am actually really digging it and I will be gutted to take it down in November.
Hope you have a Happy Halloween.
Here's to full speed ahead for Christmas!

If you don't know I have been gluten-free since 2012, it has become a lot easier now to get GF products and food in restaurants, most places have gluten-free menus.  However, I always find going abroad a lot harder and one place I have been a lot is Disneyland Paris. Every year I tend to research to see if they have added any more detail to information about allergies but it just seems to be the same. I thought I would share my tips, experiences and my Best and Worst Restaurants.

First things first breakfast, most restaurants are buffet styled. The fruit and veg are gluten free and most of the meat plus you get hard boiled eggs and omelettes. If you ask one of the waiters they will come out with a basket of free-form food, Cake, bread, and crisps bread. My mum had an omelette on the bread, it isn't the best bread but its something.
I actually put ham on the crisps bread, took some fruit and ate this for lunch.

Which leads me on to inside the park, obviously the waffles and crepes are off limits, however, the popcorn is gluten free as well as the toffee apples at that time of year. Most of the crips are gluten-free just like the chocolate. You just have to check, lucky for us gluten is gluten in French.
One really great thing is that Disney's ice cream they use is Ben & Jerry's, so it was really easy to work out what was GF, just ask it without the wafer. I went with Peanut Buttercup, which was heaven!!
I would say, nevertheless, take food from breakfast and bring snacks with you just in case.

Top Places to go:

Planet Hollywood- This is the one of the best! They have an actual GF menu. I would avoid the pizza if you don't like frozen pizzas, however, they have amazing Gluten free buns/rolls that can be put on any burgers. I went with the chicken burger which was yummy!! The menu is great and has a wide selection.
It is however quite pricey and it's not excluded in any half-board offers. But in my opinion, it is so worth it!

Restaurants De Stars- We did a little more research this year and found this place was great. It is a buffet and we were a little worried as buffets can be hit or miss, but this was a major hit.
The best thing was that they knew exactly what we were talking about and had an allergen menu for us. (Sorry about the pic, I felt awkward as the waiter was holding it!)
They have a great range of salad, but also rice, stew and the best part was the meat. They had the chef cut the meat for you. My mum and I went with the ham, rice and veg.
They also had a range of deserts, trifle and the floating island was the winner for us.
We actually went 2/4 days as we loved it so much, this is included in the half board deal.

Places to bear in mind:

Inventions- Disneyland Hotel: This is a buffet style restaurant, just like breakfast, however, there is a lesser choice to eat. If you like rice and simple veg then it's the place for you.
They weren't as clued up as Restaurants de Stars, no-one really knew what we were saying and it was just awkward. They had fruit and sweets for dessert and that was it.
I feel like most restaurants will be the same, I would just ask. Not the worst, but not worth the money!

Rainforest Cafe- They don't have a gluten-free menu, but they are a bit more clued up. The steak and salmon are GF as well as the Cobb Salad. I have also had the Ceasor salad without dressing and croutons.
If you like that they bear that in mind, it is very expensive though so maybe not worth it either.

Walts Diner-  This is a recent find, this restaurant is located on Main Street.  Again they don't have a GF menu but they are willing to try,  just like Rainforest they have salads. Ask without croutons and it is perfectly fine, again maybe not worth all that money for some leaves and chicken.

McDonald's: If you want a cheap simple meal, then maccy dees is the way to go. You can only eat the chips, plain salad and burger without the bun but like I said it is cheap and quick!

Places to avoid:

Cafe Mickey: They have a set menu which does not include GF products

Annettes Dinner: One of the worst, if you have looked up gluten-free in Disney then you'll know that they have an allergy meal. Annettes never even tried to make anything for us, they gave us the allergen meal, and I would highly recommend avoiding! It is a microwave meal, and not great at all.

Lastly any burger places, ie Videooplis: They just sell burgers and have no GF product.

My biggest advice is to do your research, take snacks and just don't worry!
If you have any more questions just ask!
Have a great time in Disney!

I have grown to be a lover of interior design, getting my room perfect and just the way I like it.  I scrolled through posts and posts on Pinterest for inspiration and one of the things I fell in love with was prints. The amount of 'print walls' was insane, so I made it my hunt to find my own.
I bought a few last year from Not on the High street,  however, when Jazmyn over at Bliss Prints Uk, gave me a chance to choose some prints I jumped at the chance.
She has a great range of prints, which you can view on her Instagram, @BlissPrintsUK

I could have easily chosen all of them, however, I picked my two favourites.
The first one 'Na Ma St'ay in bed' was a must, I have heard this saying so many times and I am obsessed with it,  I love that she has used two fonts as it ties in so well with my other prints!
The other one, I thought is perfect for above my bed, 'No matter how you feel, Get Up, Dress Up, Show Up and never give up'.  Just a little reminder every morning to get up.

Prices for the prints are £3 for a print already made and £4 for a custom print, plus 50p for P&P.
Right now they have 15% of all orders in October,  however, if you use these code EMMA20 you can get 20% your order (excluding P&P).

I am completely obsessed with them and I am so happy with them. They are great quality and I would highly recommend.
I am so tempted to get more, maybe some Christmas one ;)
Let me know if you buy any?
Have a great day!

*Thank you to Jazmyn for sending these, although I was sent these my options are honest and my own*

I just want to start and say that these options are my own and I am not being paid to say any of these, as I went through the experience I had so many questions so I thought I would share my own.

I suppose first things first, why Americamp? To be honest, it was the first one that I clicked on,  it had promoted cheaper fees and when I tweeted about Summer camp they were so active and replied right away, which I loved.
I had actually started my application but in 2015 and then decided I wasn't ready so when May 2016 came around and there was a chance to put a VIP deposit, I jumped at the chance. I was so excited.
I didn't do much after that, it was maybe a month later that I actually started my application and sent it back and the rest is history...

Treat this like a job application, be as enthusiastic, as possible, go into detail and just sell yourself. Camps want to be able to know who you are and want to hire you.
I remember being told that my skills weren't gonna be good enough, so  I was told to write, camping and loving the outdoors.
I didn't understand why that was just a big deal, know I realised that it is a core skill to survive at camp, you are outdoors all the time, it looks great on your application.
Write as much as possible and like I said, sell yourself!

As cringy as it may be you'll have to do it, just be yourself! Add pictures, videos and anything that could win you a place to camp. I would show you mine but I don't want you to cringe you out. ;)

This was the make or break for me, this is where I got placed and where it all changed.
Try and meet people beforehand, I ended up making friends with another 7 applicants and it made it so much easier. We were all in the same boat and it calmed the nerves a bit!
The fair itself was so overwhelming, there were so many people, all pushing to get into a queue for a camp. The queues were so long, it was quite intimidating.
I went to several camps before Tanuga, they were all very formal and focused more on skills. My skills were basically working with children and a creative side, so the few I went to told me I didn't have enough skills and they were looking for more specific ones. It was quite defeating, however, I went a queued up at Camp Tanuga tucked into the corner.
This is where I say be yourself, I sat and word vomited all over Jack, the interviewer, I just non-stopped talked the whole time about random things, he then stopped me halfway through my sentence and said 'Do you want the job'... 'I'm hiring you because you're fun!' lol
And that was that I was placed and my journey began.
I know people that didn't get placed at Camp Fairs, however, went on to be placed elsewhere, so don't worry.
So be yourself, show your personality, research the camp, and relax!!

As the weeks went on, it was so excited to officially say where I was going,  I researched the camp so many times and stalked *soz guys* the hashtag to see who was all placed.
I had to pay a few more fees, including a placement fee and then it was on to the Visa.
It is as scary as it seems when you first go to start the application, however, as you go through each section it isn't as bad as it seems.
Take plenty of time to do each part and just relax, save after each part if you don't think you can do it all at once as it will not save and you'll have to restart.
Make sure you have the reference at hand and a picture at the right size (2" by 2", you should get an email from Americamp with step by step instructions. Follow that and you'll get it right!
Make sure everything is spelt right. Double. Triple. Triple check.
I say check your spelling as I misspelt my name, it was two letters in the wrong place on my Visa appointment and I thought I wasn't gonna get in. We called up and they said to risk it or change the date. I risked it and I thankfully got in!!
The Visa itself is £160, so make sure you have that to pay, you then get to book your appointment. This part is pretty simple and then you wait.

Unfortunately, if you live in Scotland like me, you either have to travel down to Ireland or London. I travelled down to London as it was cheaper and we made a holiday out of it!
Make sure you bring all the documents you need, again Americamp will email you right before.
It is quite intimidating so again try to arrange to meet people there, I met up with Jade and I felt a lot calmer.
Fun fact: the time of your appointment is just an average time, they find it easier giving appointment times so everyone doesn't arrive at the same time.
Which was great to find out as Americamp arrived 5 minutes after my appointment, but like I said it was fine.
It was so much better than I thought, you were able to take bags inside and also your phone, they put them through a security scanner as well as yourself going through one.
Once they have checked your documents, you sit in the waiting room and get a number. Once your number is called you go over to the booth.
They again ask to see documents and also your picture.
Your picture has to be the right size but also has to be a completely white background, I say this as mine was off-white and she very kindly let me use it, even though it technically wasn't allowed.
You then go through to the US  part and they asked me where I was going and for how long and that was that!
Americamp had told we had to have something to prove that we were coming home. Book flights there and back or use uni/college acceptance letter, or your job telling them you were coming back.
However, I wasn't asked at my appointment, but just to be sure.

I got my visa about 5 days later and I was so excited. It was official!!!!

After all the stress with the Visa, you will get to a  point when it will be all about camp now.
Packing was another stressful time, how was I gonna fit 3 and a half months of clothes in 40kg. The truth is that you won't  and in fact, you don't need to.
I was given a camp packing list that freaked me out, it told me to pack 10+ t-shirt, 10+ this, 10+ that and in all honesty, you don't need it. You'll learn at camp that it honestly doesn't matter if you wear the same thing twice, three times, ten times, as long as its (kinda) clean then you are sorted.
I would say pack things that you think that can last you 1/2 weeks and go with that.
On our days off we went to the laundry matt to clean our clothes.  When the kids arrived the days off were less consistent, however, you could give washing to other counsellors to wash.
Shorts, t-shirts, flannels, sweatshirts, comfy clothes were a must but I would also suggest bringing fancier clothes, for days off and late night trips to 'church' ;)
Bring trainers, sandals, fancier shoes and if you want hiking boots.
Don't over think it, if you miss anything you will have plenty of time to go out and buy things. Go into shops like Goodwill and get yourself cheap clothes.
Toiletries are again the same, you can always buy things on days off or again get other to buy you things.
Make-up wise, simple is better, you will have opportunities to dress up but there is no point bringing expensive products. I put mascara and sorted my eyebrows most days, but like your outfits, no one cares.
So, don't overthink, be sensible and remember you can also pick things up as you go.

So I could talk all day about Camp life, but I realise every camp is different.  I will say is that you'll get the hang of the routine and it will become second nature. The camp may seem huge when you start but you'll be walking around the place like you have lived there your whole life.
Have fun and just enjoy the summer of a lifetime.

Hope this was helpful, if you have any more questions leave them down below?
Thanks, Americamp and Tanuga!! See you next year!

As Summer has officially ended and we are now into Autumn,  I thought I would share my summer highlights before it gets too cold and cosy and Summer is a thing of the past.
As you know I spent my summer in America in a Summer camp, it was the best thing I ever have done, however, I was lucky enough to travel before and after camp, as well as days off.

I started my travels in New York, New York as to be my favourite place to visit, I don't know what it is but I just feel at ease. Here are some touristy moments I had on my trip!

During camp, we had days off, one of my favourites places that I visited whilst in Michigan was Mackinac Island! It was beautiful, the town reminded me of Disneyland! We rode around the island on tandems, ate ice-cream and just had just a chill day!!!

Then, after camp finished Maddie and I headed to Chicago for a quick stop! We visited the Aquarium, ate more ice-cream and took many Ubers!!

We then took a bus down to Indiana to meet up with Ashton and Emma, Ashton's hometown. We had a quick tour around her sorority, got tattoos and then it was time to head to somewhere new!

Nashville was next!!

Last but least, Atlanta and Florida! I stayed with Sarah and her family, it was so nice to relax. We went to the beach, chilled by the pool, shopped and shopped ;)

I had the best summer and shared it with the best people!! I am so grateful for this opportunity and so happy that I knock off a few more states on my bucket list!
Now it is all steam ahead for Autumn/Winter ;)

Let me know what states you have visited?
